Baldwin Terrace was transformed over the LFA weekend by fixing a rhythm of panels made from reclaimed doors to the street facade of Edward Cullinan Architects' studios and fabric on the canal facade. The doors conveyed a message that was only legible from one vantage point where the graphics aligned with the perspective to form a pencil pointing the way to the 'Making Places' exhibition and 'Love Your Canal' postcard competition display. Move from the vantage point and the message fragmented back to abstract forms.
On the canal-side of the building, a series of eight banners created a flipbook-like effect of a cormorant diving into the canal after a fish, before returning to the surface to dry its wings. The colour theme and placing of the banners echoed the street-side installation to encourage a visual and physical connection between the street and the canal.
