Philip Graham
BA (Hons), MArch

Philip joined Cullinans in 2006 following training at the University of Sheffield School of Architecture and the Universitatea de Arhitectura si Urbanism "Ion Mincu" in Bucharest, Romania. He became a member of the firm in 2007 and has predominantly worked on the practice's masterplanning projects.

Philip was most recently project architect on the Madinat Hadaek Shahat masterplan project - a carbon neutral town for 60,000 people in the Green Mountain, eastern Libya. His work in Libya began in 2009 when he lived in country as part of the multi-disciplinary Green Mountain Project, designing visitor strategies for vast archaeological sites and urban proposals for existing towns, as part of a broader, strategic planning project for the region.

Other work has included Shenley Academy in Birmingham, a new library and IT centre for Fitzwilliam College Cambridge, a masterplan for the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a new HQ office building for Nottinghill Housing Group (London) and the design of the main office building for Cullinans' masterplan at Masshouse Circus, Birmingham. He qualified as an Architect in 2008 and is also a member of Cullinans' design management team.

Before joining Cullinans Philip worked in Seattle (USA), Sheffield and London, with independent projects undertaken in Edinburgh and south Wales. Prior to beginning his architectural training, he served as an Army officer in the Royal Artillery. His MArch research thesis concerned the subject of Urbicide - deliberate urban and architectural manipulation for political gain. Philip also paints in oils and exhibits his work in the UK and online.
