Wen studied at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, and later fully qualified as an architect while working at Edward Cullinan Architects in 1989. In the early 1990's, she enjoyed 2 years in Edinburgh, and 6 years in Berlin.

Wen rejoined Cullinans in 1998, working on the University of Cambridge's Centre for Mathematical Sciences, and then went on to become Project Architect on the second Library phase.

Wen worked on the Singapore Management University's new campus, and on the masterplan for a sustainable development in north east Lincolnshire. Wen recently managed the design for the Penarth Heights residential development in south Wales and is currently working on the last residential building in the Bristol Harbourside Masterplan, having previously worked on Building 10.
